The COLINAS VERDES Foundation

Established in 1993, The Colinas Verdes Foundation is a nonprofit located in Southern Ecuador, in the picturesque town of San Pedro de Vilcabamba—just 2 km from the renowned tourist destination of Vilcabamba. “Colinas Verdes,” meaning “Verdant Ranges” in Spanish, was founded by a group of visionaries dedicated to conserving the rich biodiversity of Southern Ecuador and promoting sustainable development for the local community.

Our Mission
The foundation is committed to achieving two key objectives:

  1. Environmental Conservation: Safeguarding local ecosystems, including Podocarpus National Park.
  2. Community Development: Enhancing the livelihoods of local farmers and their families.
